The idea originated from being a Fine and Performing Arts
student in undergraduate. I remember checking the call board everyday to see
what was going on in the theatre, music and studio art departments. However,
when it came to events, it was difficult to get people from different genres to
show up. I thought it would be great to build a platform in which people from
different genres could promote their events and thereby increase participation
from others.

From Job Posting to a New Mission
Even though my initial goal was to create more jobs in the
creative fields within the economy, the social network that I built had undergone
several development changes over the years. The early days of the website were
reserved for job postings across many disciplines in the United States; however,
there was a spike in the number of visual artists who joined the website in
order to promote their creative works. Over time, the website became more of a
place to upload images of your art and promote it to a global audience, which caused
me to revisit the mission of the website.
